A Conversation with Myself - Alan Watts Video

Alan Watts: A Conversation with Myself - Part 1

What is the difference between the world of nature and the world of man? Nature has a completely different style complex and beautiful way of expressing. Humans create squares and forms and organizations to make sense of the world in very simplistic, limited ways. Nature is far more complicated and beautifully designed. Everything is woven and interconnected and we are a part of this world. The aesthetic forms in nature appeal to me more than the aesthetic forms that humanity produces.

As I experience nature, being with nature in all its infinitely evolving forms I find myself becoming more aware of the creations that flow from the divine.  Everything is moving, everything is changing and it is my path towards harmony to be in resonate flow with the life around me.  From the flow of impermenance our infinite nature is experienced.

We live in boxes created around us by a self that is looking for permanance when all we need to do is be present in this eternal moment and flow without boxes or borders as free as our infinite soul.

Listen and contemplate what Alan Watts shares.

Alan Watts: A Conversation with Myself- Part 2

The whole universe is an aperture though which I look through. Everything exists as it does because of the relationship to that which surrounds it. We are inseparable from our surroundings. We humans try to improve the world and in this process we destroy the natural world because our language and understanding is far to simple for the natural world.

Everything is happening all at once… all over the place. We have one track minds in an infinitely multi track universe…

Great thoughts to be with and contemplate!

Me and My Role at the Gaia Community

Posted on Feb 7th, 2008 by Mark : Visionary Mark
Mypicture
Hello Everyone,

I would like to share a bit about me and my role here with Gaia Community.

I am engaged in supporting the community to build connections and grow together.  I enjoy helping sustainably conscious initiatives evolve and sharing in service to the world, locally and globally.

How are we going to change the world together?

By connecting, interacting, meeting, sharing, working together, helping to empower, growing together and spreading the seeds that grow beautiful flowers....

What's your greatest passion?
Everyday and everything... that is a part of this life I'm living.  Really I am often surprised by the spontaneous beauty flowing around me.   To wake every morning greeted by the sun.  To breath in and out.  To be in daily relationship with the person I love.  To watch my children bloom.  To be present in the moments is beyond words.

What do you love most about this community?

I love the communication that happens here everyday.  I love the sharing of ideas, visions, passions and the simple connections that bring us together.  I love the interactions that develop as we communicate with each other.  I love the potential of the community to evolve the way we interact and grow together.

What do you love most about working here?

I enjoy being in service to the community vision, bringing people together and sharing our collective expanding connections as we evolve our inner and outer beings.

btw - in the picture I'm in the center.  Jennifer and Ninja Dave are behind me.

Meet the rest of the Gaia Team

Gaia Groups Community ~ cultivating great community pods

Posted on Feb 26th, 2008 by Mark : Visionary Mark
From Sandra ~

I'm really happy to announce that the ”Gaia Groups Community” pod, aka The Mod Pod, is up and available for membership.

A few of us have been working on ths for some time, I think it will be a great addition to the work of supporting this community.

It is a semi-private pod, but visible by all. Anyone who wants to join simply has to email one of the moderators.

Pease come on by.

Here is a copy of the pod description:

Mod Pod
This group is for cultivators and moderators of groups (a.k.a. “pods”) here at Gaia, as well as for anyone else who has aspirations of becoming a cultivator or moderator or otherwise promoting the vibrancy of the pod community.

In this group, we discuss various strategies, issues and ideas related to group administration, as well as help less experienced moderators to develop their groups into thriving spaces that bring about a sense of community both within the group and throughout Gaia. That also includes discussing strategies for and providing support in mediating conflict with and between members of the groups we moderate.

This group also provides opportunities for working together with moderators of similar or complementary groups, as well as for merging groups in order to more effectively unite people with similar interests, not to mention generally building a sense of community among group moderators.

Finally, this group is a place in which we can discuss various important ideas that may have emerged separately in multiple groups, thereby providing us with a better sense of what the free will of the broader Gaia community is, which will, in turn, help us to be better moderators.

Joining the Group

All group cultivators, moderators and other enthusiastic community advocates are encouraged to join the group. To do so, simply contact one of this group's moderators, who are: Grey, Sandra and Meenakshi, Bruce, and Dave.

Enjoy!

Spirit does not Exist in just one Location...

Posted on Feb 27th, 2008 by Mark : Visionary Mark
I discovered this wonderful quote in an email from Kala.

“Spirit does not exist in just one location; rather it is all encompassing, living within and amongst us in each moment, thought and action. I believe that Spirit is raised to it's highest level, when individuals gather with wisdom, compassion and a discerning desire to provide service to humanity”.

I like to browse the featured members section on the main page of the community and see who shows up.  I like to see if I recognize anyone and like to radomly discover new friends.

Today was the first day that I showed up as a featured member.  I curious, does anyone else browse our featured members?
