I love the idea, but I'd love to see some other numbers added to it, like “Number of people lifted out of poverty due to globalization” and “Increase in Internet traffic (in GB transmitted)” and “Number of people with access to doctors”, etc. Some good news numbers… right now, this seems like the “Earth [is going to hell] Clock”, and I just don't feel that way.
Good find, though… and I agree, there's a wonderful opportunity for technology to do little things like this that keep us awake and aware of what's going on from a broader perspective.
Two numbers have not change (I hope it's for the better) They are the # of oil spills & the # of species extinct. It would be nice if I felt that that were true.
Awesome! Powerful way of representing the facts, and a good reference point. Wonder if there's a statistics board with the other stats that Scott referred to out there?

Pretty neat!!
Thanks Adam!
Love it!
This is pretty cool. It makes me want to stop wasting my time with so much going on all at once right before my eyes. Thank you, for the wake up.
I love this thing. We need more creative applets. It's crazy to watch the numbers grow and drop. It makes you think.
